Department Manager, Footwear, Retail Sales Leader

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to lead our Footwear department at Sport Chek. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, delivering exceptional customer service, and developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive business growth and achieve sales targets.
- Lead and manage a team of sales associates to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.
- Coach and develop team members to improve sales skills, product knowledge, and customer service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat business.
- Manage inventory levels, merchandise displays, and visual merchandising to maximize sales and customer engagement.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to inform sales strategies and product offerings.
- Collaborate with other department managers to achieve store-wide sales goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of retail management experience, preferably in a footwear or apparel department.
- Proven track record of sales growth, customer service excellence, and team leadership.
- Strong business acumen, with ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
