About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Game Systems Designer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing various game systems, player interactions, and gameplay ingredients that will create and support an engaging Open World experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design leadership to develop and own game systems, player interactions, and gameplay ingredients that align with our design goals.
  • Work closely with Gameplay Designers to ensure our systems and core gameplay complement and feed each other.
  • Develop and maintain design documents to communicate our vision and goals to the team.
  • Prototype, integrate, and maintain features and content using Unreal Engine 5.
  • Collaborate with the World, Level Design, and Tech Design teams to ensure seamless communication and a top-tier player experience.
  • Review the game against our design goals and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support more junior designers and provide feedback to the team.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing video games.
  • Experience working on World systems, player interactions, or Gameplay ingredients is a plus.
  • Familiarity with advanced game engines like Unreal, Unity, and others.
  • Experience working hands-on with a game engine to implement designs.
  • Knowledge of recent titles and trends in action games and RPGs.
