This position reports to the Country Holding Officer at ABB.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of the team, you will collaborate with the real estate team and support local businesses in all matters associated with ABB's real estate occupancy and operating costs. You will help develop the real estate strategy in line with wider division and product group strategies.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide key support to the business, ensuring accurate tracking and processing of all transactions.
- Translate business strategy into plans and establish measurable targets, evaluate the financial implications of various strategic decisions, identify risks and recommend actions.
- Oversee the business financial reporting, planning and forecasting processes for Canada Real Estate and serve as the interface with all the local business units as well as coordination with the Global Real Estate Group.
- Perform financial analysis and develop recommendations to support real estate cost optimization strategies and sustainability goals.
- Monitor and control real estate investments, commitment and operational expenses, taking relevant actions to ensure continuous improvement on relevant KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with ABB Governance and external regulatory requirements.
- Establish and oversee processes and tools to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information.
- Ensure timely and efficient communication with relevant Controllers, the Accounting Center and others to identify and discuss issues, and suggest improvements.
Requirements
- Five plus years of experience in an accounting or controlling role.
- Experience with accounting systems and financial reporting software, including Readsoft, SAP, CRIMS, RELEX & GMAS.
- Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to multitask.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or real estate.
- French is essential. English is also required as this position will service internal and external clients from other provinces.
- Current right to work in Canada.
