About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Hematopathology Specialist to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories. As a key member of our medical laboratory team, you will be responsible for diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders through the examination of laboratory samples and specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens
  • Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders
  • May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Supervise laboratory activities
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
  • Train resident pathologists and morgue attendants
  • Supervise junior resident pathologists and morgue attendants
  • Help pathologists

Requirements:

  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
  • Specialty residency training
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
