Safety and Compliance - Driver Manager Role Summary

In this dynamic role, you'll analyze safety performance data to identify high-risk trends and develop proactive strategies to mitigate risks and enhance compliance.

You'll provide expert guidance on safety protocols and regulatory issues, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Monitoring:
    • Monitor SAFER and CVOR regularly; prepare monthly reports for management with suggestions, predictive analysis, and action plans.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to reduce Driver and Equipment Violations, CVOR, USDOT compliance, and accident rates.
    • Analyze trends and provide recommendations to management to prevent serious issues.
  • ELOG Compliance:
    • Ensure drivers comply with US and Canadian regulations; review Personal Conveyance usage and inspect daily logbook violations.
  • ELOG/GPS Management:
    • Oversee the company's eLog and GPS tracking systems, set operational rules, and implement recommendations for improvement.
  • Driver Training:
    • Conduct road testing, orientation, and training sessions on E-Log applications, pre/post-trip inspections, cargo securement, and other safety protocols.
  • Driver Interaction:
    • Provide coaching and corrective action for driver violations, including training recommendations, warnings, and, if necessary, legal support.
    • Address driver inquiries regarding regulations, policies, and on-the-road issues.
  • Quarterly Driver Meetings:
    • Organize and lead meetings to review driver performance, communicate new policies, and maintain meeting minutes.
  • Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
    • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance.
    • Review and update Driver Training Programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly safety performance reports.
    • Conduct daily 'spot checks' on driver Pre-Trip Inspections (PTIs) and report findings to drivers and management.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - 120,000 annually, based on industry standards for similar roles in the Vaughan area.
