Job Title: Assistant Director of Care

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to residents' short- and long-term needs
  • Monitor and evaluate care plans for effectiveness and changing care needs, ensuring timely action is taken
  • Provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents
  • Ensure schedules and work assignments meet provincial and legal requirements for professional nursing and other care-related services
Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff involved in continuing care, fostering new initiatives and interpreting care-related policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments and staff to ensure goals and planned changes are monitored and reviewed
  • Network with other Care Directors and healthcare professionals to share best practices
Financial Management:
  • Ensure care programs are delivered within budget allocation and in accordance with provincial standards and legal requirements
  • Reconcile long-term care activity reports to ensure resident days and levels of care concur with revenues derived from the regionally funded daily rate
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Audit and monitor the administration of medication
  • Monitor and control the use of narcotics
  • Investigate and document serious incidents, taking corrective action as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 2-4 years' management and/or supervisory experience, preferably in long-term care or senior services
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and current BCCNM registration in British Columbia
  • Clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
