Senior Project Engineer Opportunity at DRS Pivotal Power

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team at DRS Pivotal Power, a leading developer and manufacturer of high reliability power conversion equipment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the design, development, and testing of our products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project management of electrical design activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and customer specifications;
  • Leading a project team to develop designs that meet customer needs, considering cost as a key variable;
  • Assisting in the creation and management of ILS requirements, including technical manuals and supporting documentation;
  • Providing budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments, including EAC, ETC, and milestone reports;
  • Communicating effectively with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers;
  • Participating in proposal preparation and interacting with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel;
  • Mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in electrical design in a light manufacturing environment;
  • 5-10 years of project management experience, with PMP designation considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with military and commercial standards for electrical designs preferred;
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and software, including Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Recent experience using MS Project, MS Access desirable;
  • Strong electrical aptitude, excellent technical writing, planning, and project management skills;
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent time management skills, able to set and achieve goals and objectives.
