Student Financial Services Advisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Financial Services Advisor to join our team at York University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial support and assistance to students, advocating for their needs, and ensuring they have the required funds to successfully complete their studies.

Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and process government financial aid and university award applications
Resolve inconsistencies in students' accounts and handle appeals, reviews, or exceptional requests
Process and issue funds, and assess students' financial eligibility to continue their studies
Collaborate with the Manager, Glendon SFS and other colleagues to develop materials promoting financial aid, financial literacy, and student engagement

Requirements:
One to two years recent related experience in a bilingual post-secondary institution
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently under pressure
Familiarity with OSAP, Prêt et bourses de Quebec, and other loan programs
Bilingual module I (Advanced) and IV (Advanced)
