About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As an active member of the patient care team, you will work collaboratively with individuals, families, and groups to promote movement, occupation, and function. Under the direction of the Manager of Seniors WZ, and under the supervision of a licensed health professional, you will be responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of assigned interventions for patients in movement and daily function.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of proper body mechanics and be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff. You will also be responsible for checking and cleaning equipment, maintaining treatment and storage areas, and ordering necessary supplies. About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong educational background and relevant experience in rehabilitation. You will have a Grade 12 or GED, a Rehabilitation Assistant Program (which includes both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components), and Basic Cardiac Life Support. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Hours and Compensation

This is a long assignment, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $25.95. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
