About the Opportunity

The Health Services Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within a patient-centred, Collaborative Practice Model for patient care.

This role requires a high degree of decision making, change management, team building and collaboration skills. Responsibilities include process design and redesign initiatives related to improvement activities in the department.

The Health Services Manager will be accountable for multiple ambulatory clinics at the Victoria General Hospital Site including the Benign Medical Day Unit.

Working in a co-leadership model, the Health Services Manager is also responsible for working with physician co-leads of the areas required to engage the interdisciplinary team to address key clinical practices and utilization management/patient flow in the provision of quality care throughout the continuum.

Knowledge of data information management systems is essential in reporting indicators and outcome measurements. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership, and financial management functions and behaviors.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in healthcare leadership and management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare discipline and a Master's degree in nursing, Health Services Administration or Business Administration is preferred.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience and a minimum of five years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment.

CHE certification is an asset and previous leadership/management experience is also an asset. The candidate must demonstrate analytical, independent and creative decision making and high degrees of self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills.

Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work is also required. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded health care system, nationally and internationally.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the leadership capabilities that encompass the LEADS in a Caring Environment Framework and competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours

This is a permanent full-time position with a 75-hour biweekly schedule.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary range of $45.45 - $60.39 Hourly and may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
