About this Opportunity

Cenovus Energy Inc. is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented students to join our team as Co-op Students in Accounting and Reporting. As a Co-op Student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading professionals, gaining hands-on experience in accounting, financial reconciliations, variance analysis, and journal entry preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in performing key accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support the preparation and consolidation of financial reports and statements.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliations and prepare adjustments as necessary.
  • Research and resolve financial discrepancies, respond to queries, and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and other financial records.
Requirements
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application.
  • Available to begin work in January 2025 or May 2025.
  • Previous experience using SAP would be an asset.
Education
  • Must be enrolled in a business degree focused on Accounting or Commerce at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a master's or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
