Accounting Student Opportunity at Inter Pipeline

At Inter Pipeline, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Student to join our inventory and costing team in Calgary. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the costing team to account for cost of sales, inventory, and variances
  • Work with the costing team to ensure cost of sales and inventory financial information is accurate and complete
  • Create and enter journal entries and provide accurate accounting of cost of sales and accruals
  • Perform G/L account reconciliations and provide recommendations to address reconciling items
  • Assist in the development of standard costs in SAP ERP system
  • Assist in the analysis of product costs and variances associated with purchased and manufactured goods
  • Assist in developing more efficient and accurate manufacturing reporting
  • Promote and implement business process improvements
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary student with a strong background in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, communication and organizational skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal, team, and customer service communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office Suite computer skills
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently
