Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

Trans 99 Logistics is seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Pay and receive payments for goods, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Recruit and hire staff to support the transportation department.
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct performance reviews to evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Arrange training for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Co-ordinate, assign, and review work to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics of the organization to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in long haul trucking.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to withstand the demands of long haul trucking.
