Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a commercial vehicle to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. This is a permanent position with a variable schedule, requiring the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a commercial vehicle: Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
  • Plan and adjust routes: Use computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Load and unload goods: Safely load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling.
  • Perform vehicle inspections: Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
  • Communicate with dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring timely and efficient communication.
  • Record cargo information: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements:
  • Valid AZ class license: Possess a valid AZ class license and Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence: Hold a Class 1/1F/A Licence for semi-trailer trucks.
  • Experience: An asset, but not required.
