About the Role

Amazon Managed Compute Runtimes is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead the development of our next-generation Compute platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding a team of software engineers to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge technology solutions that enable Amazon's businesses to innovate and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a high-performing team of software engineers and technical program managers to develop and deliver complex software solutions through agile methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and program management, to define and drive long-term product strategy based on customer and technology partner relationships.
- Architect and deliver Amazon's next-generation compute/orchestration technology to address the increasingly complex needs of Amazon's businesses.

Requirements

- 3+ years of experience in managing engineering teams.
- 7+ years of engineering experience.
- 8+ years of experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
- Strong knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
