Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC Full time

We are a leading developer of cloud computing solutions, pushing the boundaries of innovation and excellence. Our team is comprised of skilled professionals who share our passion for delivering high-quality services that meet the ever-evolving needs of our customers.

About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer with our AWS Networking Telemetry and Engineering (NTE) team, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable software systems that leverage data streaming solutions to drive the next generation of network monitoring systems. Your expertise in distributed systems design and implementation will enable us to deliver real-time analysis and resolution of network congestion events, optimize our network costs, and forecast future capacity needs.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will work closely with our team of software engineers, network engineers, and data scientists to develop innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging problems, collaborate with talented individuals, and make a meaningful impact on the success of our organization. If you are a motivated and experienced software development engineer looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply.

This role is part of Amazon's Infrastructure Services group, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from building and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure to developing new services and features.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build scalable software systems that leverage data streaming solutions to drive the next generation of network monitoring systems.
  • Work with software engineers day-to-day to demonstrate skills like providing clear feedback, accountability, and coaching individuals or teams.
  • Define individual team or organizational goals based on customer/team/business requirements and deliver these goals through your team.

As an SDM, you will problem-solve and innovate in an agile, sometimes ambiguous environment. You will build creative short-term and sustainable long-term solutions with others as passionate as you about this mission.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

We offer a competitive salary range of $114,800 - $191,800 per year, depending on your qualifications and experience. In addition to your base salary, you may also be eligible for equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
