Job Overview

The Deputy GBTS Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) by providing state-of-the-art pilot training. Reporting to the GBTS Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of the Training Information Management Systems (TIMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Courseware Management: Technical responsibility for development and integration of courseware, training equipment, and TIMS. Coordinate required flying training equipment and courseware changes based on requirements provided by the MFO (Manager of Flying Operations).
  • Liaison with Software Companies and Allied Wings: Ensure all technical issues are promptly communicated between organizations and issues are tracked and validated.
  • Training Program Improvement Committee (TPIC): Participate in the committee to improve training programs.
  • Course Critique Program: Deliver and administer the course critique program, ensuring timely surveys to students and providing statistical analysis reports as requested.
  • Audits and Inspections: Assist in audits, inspections, and internal reviews as required.
  • Acting GBTS Manager: Act as GBTS Manager as required.
  • Project Management: Act as Project Manager at the discretion of the GBTS Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Degree from an accredited university or college in Project or Business Management, or in Education.
  • Experience in instructional design or curriculum review.
  • Knowledge of aviation/military terminology preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Clearance.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs.
  • Ability to travel within and outside of Canada.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.
  • Consistently demonstrate a higher level of competency in sound decision making, problem-solving, leadership, and communication.
