About the Role

The Microsoft Canada team is seeking a Senior Software Design Engineer who is passionate about video hardware and software. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge video technologies, collaborating with internal and external partners to solve complex problems in the area of Xbox video.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Design Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the development of design documents for video-related products and applications. You will create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance and maintainability. You will also work closely with stakeholders to determine user requirements and develop plans to meet those needs.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of video technologies, including video encode, decode, color processing, and motion estimation. You should have expertise in coding languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, and be proficient in verbal and written communication. Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements is also a must.

  1. Collaboration and Communication
    Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements for video-related products and applications.
  2. Design and Development
    Drive the development of design documents for video-related products and applications.
  3. Code Optimization and Maintenance
    Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance and maintainability.
  4. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting
    Work closely with stakeholders to develop plans to meet user requirements and troubleshoot complex problems.
