About the Role

Arista Networks is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Software Engineer to join our Packet Forwarding Engines (PFE) and System software development team. As a core member of this team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions for our ASIC-based forwarding engine.

As a Senior/Lead Software Engineer, you will work closely with our hardware team and hardware component vendors to bring up initial versions of new systems using packet forwarding engines and system software. You will also collaborate with our diagnostic software team to design and develop software for the validation of new packet forwarding engine ASICs and hardware components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software solutions for packet forwarding engines and system software.
  • Work with the hardware team and hardware component vendors to bring up initial versions of new systems.
  • Collaborate with the diagnostic software team to design and develop software for the validation of new packet forwarding engine ASICs and hardware components.
  • Develop automated tests for software solutions and monitor their execution.
  • Debug problems found by automated tests and fix issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers to bring them up to speed in Arista's software development environment.
Requirements
  • BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 8 years experience, or MS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 6 years experience, or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 3 years experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in C or C++, UNIX or Linux, IP networking or distributed systems, and software engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
What We Offer

Arista Networks offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $195,000 across Canada, depending on location and experience. We also offer benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, income protection, and a Group Retirement Savings Plan. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista's Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales.
