SOX Compliance Specialist

Adecco Canada is seeking a skilled SOX Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of SOX compliance programs within our client's organization in Calgary, AB.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess internal controls and ensure that the company adheres to SOX requirements. Your expertise will guide teams in identifying risks, streamlining processes, and providing advisory support to improve control frameworks and business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand how internal controls relate to the Company's externally reported financial results as part of the SOX planning activities.
- Update process documentation for financial processes and perform tests to ensure processes are designed and operating effectively.
- Identify financial control exceptions in processes and assist Senior Manager with deficiency evaluations.
- Assist with testing of key reports, spreadsheets, and identification of interfaces and application controls.
- Build and maintain a co-operative working relationship with stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Must have over 2-3 years of experience in a public accounting firm or in a group dedicated to audit, accounting, or finance related activities.
- Undergraduate Degree with professional accounting designation (CA/CPA) or working towards designation within completion targeted for the next 1-2 years.
- In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices.
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyze complex control matters.
