Job Description

We are seeking a Retail Sales Associate - Cashier to join our team at GoFer Liquor. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

About the Role
  • This is a permanent, 35 hours per week position with opportunities for advancement within the company.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate a cash register and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  3. Restock shelves, maintain store displays and ensure the sales floor is tidy and well-organized.
  4. Assist customers with self-checkout and answer questions about products.
  5. Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience as a sales associate or in a retail environment is an asset.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work Conditions
  • This is a standing role that requires frequent walking and bending.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

The estimated salary for this role is $40,000 per year, based on a 35 hour workweek and depending on location. This is a competitive salary that reflects the skills and qualifications required for this position.
