About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated and reliable individuals to join our facilities maintenance team as a Facilities Maintenance Team Member. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that works together to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist full-time staff with various tasks, including cleaning and maintaining facilities, sweeping, washing and stripping floors, vacuuming, washing windows and doors, cleaning washrooms and change rooms, emptying garbage, and performing other laboring duties. Additionally, they will provide exceptional customer service, work in a team environment, and follow all Norfolk County Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain facilities, including sweeping, washing, and stripping floors, vacuuming, washing windows and doors, and cleaning washrooms and change rooms.
  • Assist full-time staff with tasks such as emptying garbage, and performing other laboring duties.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public.
  • Work in a team environment and follow all Norfolk County Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, minimum age 15 years old.
  • Previous experience in janitorial or building maintenance an asset.
  • Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft).
  • Ability to work in a team environment, accept and follow verbal and written instructions, complete duties to an acceptable level of quantity and quality with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively.
  • Must be a reliable team player, able to work with and without direct supervision.
  • Must be motivated, hard-working individual able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Able to lift 30 lbs to 50 lbs.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C preferred.
  • Must have green patch CSA approved safety boots, 6" – 8" to cover ankle, suede or leather.
  • Must have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
