Bennett Design Associates is a renowned Interior Design firm and industry leader in Workplace Strategy. With extensive experience in delivering corporate and retail spaces across Canada, we are seeking an Intermediate Project Designer to join our team.

This developmental role provides support to design team projects while actively learning and working with the Bennett Design interior design project processes: Discover, Plan, Implement, Monitor and Close, including Pure DesignTM – with the high level of detail and documentation that our firm is known for. As you continue to provide project support, you will take on more responsibility in leading small projects and executing contract management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver team project goals through proficiency in the Discover, Plan and Implement phases of the Project Plan methodology.
  • Assist with site verifications, working drawings, drawing mark ups, and project setup ensuring AutoCAD drawings are site accurate.
  • Participate in initial concept development, assist with sourcing and ordering finishes, materials, and meeting with vendors, and prepare renderings and plans.
  • Assist with project work according to Project Plan, change notices, shop drawing reviews, deficiency reviews, reporting, and subcontractor coordination.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Design from a recognized accredited College or University.
  • Studying for or has the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).
  • Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) membership (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with building code requirements, laws, standards, and regulations as it relates to project work.
  • Familiarity with the interior design process from Discovery to Project Close Out phases.
  • Familiarity with products and materials and their use and application for project work.
  • Familiarity with building systems.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000-$70,000 CAD, depending on experience.
