Teacher - Long Term Occasional (LTO) Position in Grade 4/5 Early French Immersion

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified Long Term Occasional (LTO) Teacher to fill a position in Grade 4/5 Early French Immersion. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing engaging lesson plans for students in this grade level.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and develop lesson plans for Grade 4/5 Early French Immersion students
- Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate with parents and guardians through regular progress reports and parent-teacher conferences
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with curriculum developments
- Basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division
- French as a Second Language Part 1
- Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed division
- Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
- Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Google Meet as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
- Knowledge and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
- Understanding and experience in implementing the CEFR approach into FSL instruction
- Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
- Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
- Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset
