Rate of Pay: $30.65 (Start Rate), $31.25 (After 9 Months), $31.67 (After 18 Months)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Therapy Assistant to join our team at St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph. As a Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our occupational therapists and physiotherapists to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist occupational therapists and physiotherapists in providing patient care
  • Conduct therapy sessions and activities with patients
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a formal training program in Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience of both OTA and PTA practice
  • Meets Physiotherapist and Occupational therapist competency checklist
  • Demonstrates good communication, accountability, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills
  • Adaptable to handling changing workloads
  • Demonstrates commitment towards learning new skills
  • Demonstrates ability to function as a team member
  • Good attendance record
  • Physical ability to perform tasks associated with the job
