Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant will work under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to provide client-centered care and engage patients through therapeutic mobilization and self-care activities to improve or maintain function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective care while maintaining the practice standards of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO)
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement client care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and families to promote independence and self-care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences
Requirements:
- Graduate from a formal training program in Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant at a Ministry of Education approved community college
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with functionally challenged patients preferred
- Excellent communication, accountability, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing workloads
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
