Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Therapy Assistant to join our team at St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph. As a Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our occupational therapists and physiotherapists to provide high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist occupational therapists and physiotherapists with patient care and treatment plans
- Provide support with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Help patients with mobility and transfers
- Assist with rehabilitation exercises and activities
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
- Graduate from a formal training program in Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant at a Ministry of Education approved community college
- Minimum of six (6) months experience of both OTA and PTA practice
- Meets Physiotherapist and Occupational therapist competency checklist
- Demonstrates good communication, accountability, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Time management skills
- Adaptable to handling changing workloads
- Demonstrates commitment towards learning new skills
- Demonstrates ability to function as a team member
- Good attendance record
- Physical ability to perform tasks associated with the job
