At Spark Power, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team.

 

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in designing and developing electrical power systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in electrical power distribution design and engineering, preferably in industrial facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using ETAP or EasyPower, as well as performing site data collection when required. They will also perform harmonics and power factor correction studies, and generate settings files for IEDs from manufacturers such as SEL, GE, ABB, Basler, and Siemens.

In addition, the candidate will be expected to create, read, and interpret electrical AC and DC schematics, AC three-line diagrams, logic diagrams, and SLDs. They will also inspect, test, operate, and troubleshoot AC and DC control and protection wiring schematics.

Other key responsibilities include developing detailed construction work packages or engineering work packages, being familiar with industry-specific codes and standards (CEC, CSA, IEEE, and NETA), and creating or modifying single line and three line drawings using AutoCAD.

The successful candidate will also be safety conscious and willing to learn electrical lockout/tag-out procedures and gain electrical safety awareness.

 

About the Perks

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including RRSP matching, employee referral program, corporate discounts, and a supportive and fun company culture.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a P.Eng. designation will be considered an asset. They will also have a minimum of 2-5 years of direct electrical power distribution design and engineering experience, preferably in industrial facilities.
