Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Manager in our assurance and owner-managed service area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing service excellence, ensuring all aspects of our clients' service needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as a crucial link between partners and junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Perform technical research, developing and documenting planning recommendations to drive business growth and improve client satisfaction.
  • Research issues and prepare memoranda to inform business decisions and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Identify client service opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth and retention.
  • Participate in special engagements, working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Enhance and develop community relationships and networks, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Manage staff in the assurance and owner-managed client service group, providing daily guidance and coaching to develop their knowledge and skills.
  • Support and mentor firm staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Prepare and present technical sessions for staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive excellence.
  • Address and assess the firm's quality control, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a progressive public accounting firm and 2 years of that with a CPA designation and significant experience in assurance-related services.
  • Sound technical knowledge of Canadian Assurance Standards.
  • The ability to provide value-added service to our clients, driving growth and retention.
  • Good technical knowledge in personal and basic corporate income tax.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
