Contract and Obligations Lawyer Job Description

Azran Lawyers, a dynamic legal team based in the heart of Old Montreal, is seeking a skilled Contract and Obligations Lawyer to join its ranks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Develop and review various types of contracts, including commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and service agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and protecting clients' interests.
  • Legal Advice: Provide expert guidance on contractual obligations and associated legal risks, clearly explaining implications to clients and helping them make informed decisions.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms with opposing parties to secure agreements favorable to clients, demonstrating tact and diplomacy while advocating for clients' interests.
  • Contractual Dispute Resolution: Intervene in contractual disputes, developing strategies to resolve issues and representing clients in court when necessary.
  • Case Management: Ensure the complete management of client files related to contracts and obligations, organizing documents and preparing for negotiations or hearings.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of file progress and answering questions with clarity and professionalism.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in contract and obligations law.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex contracts and identify potential risks, offering tailored solutions to protect clients' interests.
  • Personal Qualities: Rigor, sense of organization, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure, with excellent negotiating skills and collaboration with team members.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in technological tools for case management and legal research.
