About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling projects, including monitoring and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local legislative and labor requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate projects within budgets.
  • Prepare project cost status reports.
  • Identify project concerns and develop plans to mitigate risks.
  • Monitor project progress and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and reducing risk through managing scope and contract change.
  • Implement and monitor the Company's Safety Policy and Program.
  • Implement and monitor the Company's Quality Assurance Program and related requirements.
  • Manage manpower acquisition, equipment management, and material procurement.
  • Assist in the management of subcontractor work execution and contracts.
  • Prepare progress billings and collect outstanding payments.
  • Conduct site safety inspections.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Technical background with professional accreditation (P.Eng./CET) or combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Related job experience of 8 years with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Previous work experience in Civil Engineering Construction, including dams, powerhouse, and generation stations, bridges, infrastructure, and/or heavy civil construction.
  • Previous work experience on an OPG project or powerhouse experience would be considered an asset.
  • Advanced skills in communication and problem-solving.
  • Initiative and leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Skilled in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Bilingualism – French/English – is considered an asset.
  • Must be willing to work on various project sites within the province of Ontario.
