Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, working closely with our Project Manager to monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling projects, monitoring progress, and reporting on key performance indicators;
  • Ensure compliance with local legislative and labor requirements, as well as Company policies and procedures;
  • Manage and coordinate projects within budgets, preparing cost status reports and identifying potential risks;
  • Monitor overall project progress, taking corrective action where necessary, and assist the Project Manager in preparing budgets and forecasts;
  • Implement and monitor the Company's Safety Policy and Program, as well as Quality Assurance Program and related requirements;
  • Acquire manpower, manage equipment, and procure materials, ensuring smooth project execution;
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing subcontractor work execution and contracts, preparing progress billings, and collecting outstanding payments;
  • Perform site safety inspections and ensure compliance with relevant regulations;
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology;
  • Technical background with professional accreditation (P.Eng./CET) or combination of technical training and/or related experience;
  • 8 years of related job experience with increasing levels of responsibility, including 5 years of experience in civil engineering construction;
  • Previous work experience on OPG projects or powerhouse experience is considered an asset;
  • Advanced skills in communication, problem-solving, initiative, and leadership;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam;
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and skilled in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving;
  • Bilingualism - French/English - is considered an asset;
