This role is responsible for leading US corporate financial reporting and analysis under US GAAP. You'll work closely with our US Finance team to prepare financial reports, analyze balance sheets and income statements, and ensure accurate information in our accounting system.

Key Responsibilities:


• Prepare and analyze financial reports to inform business decisions


• Coordinate quarterly close activities with our US Finance team


• Perform GL account reconciliations and ensure data accuracy


• Develop and maintain management reporting packages for Canadian management


• Analyze general and administrative expenses and intercompany charges


• Prepare and file premium tax and sales tax returns


• Collaborate with our Finance team to implement new reporting requirements and financial controls


• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to reduce the reporting cycle

Requirements:


• Minimum 5 years of Canadian property and casualty insurance accounting experience


• Experience with US corporate reporting under US GAAP


• Strong technical and analytical skills, with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities


• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple complex processes with high accuracy


• Well-organized and innovative, with a high level of initiative and strong time management skills


• Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of accountability and ownership


• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:


• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting


• CPA designation
