Job Title: Cleaning Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaning Assistant to join our team at Port Elgin Montessori Preschool Inc.

Job Summary:

The Cleaning Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school and children's services facility. This includes sweeping, mopping, washing and polishing floors, dusting furniture, and performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
  • Dust furniture
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Maintain supplies
  • Clean, polish and wax furniture
  • Wash and clean interior and exterior windows and other glass surfaces
  • Vacuum floors
  • Shampoo upholstery
  • Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors)
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
  • Mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches and other solutions and chemicals
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed
