Job Title: Cleaning Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaning Assistant to join our team at Port Elgin Montessori Preschool Inc.

Job Summary:

The Cleaning Assistant will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students, staff, and visitors. This includes sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpeting and upholstered furniture, and performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
  • Dust furniture
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Maintain supplies
  • Clean, polish, and wax furniture
  • Wash and clean interior and exterior windows and other glass surfaces
  • Vacuum floors
  • Shampoo upholstery
  • Perform general cleaning duties (i.e., sweeping, mopping floors)
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs
  • Mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches, and other solutions and chemicals
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed
