About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaning Assistant to join our team at Port Elgin Montessori Preschool Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Window and Glass Cleaning: Wash windows, walls and ceilings, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Supply Management: Maintain supplies and ensure that all necessary cleaning materials are available.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work independently, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
Requirements
  • Availability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate or diploma required, but previous experience in a similar field is an asset.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
