Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Event Security Officer to join our team at Paladin Security. As an Event Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and concierge services to guests
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a professional and friendly manner
  • Check and verify tickets to provide entry to facility
  • Effectively assess situations and escalate to security or management as necessary
  • Control access to the facility
  • Conduct regular foot patrols
  • Monitor in-house radio communications, responding during emergencies as required
  • Manage lines and assist with orderly ingress and egress from the facility
  • Communicate with colleagues, clients, emergency responders, and the public
  • Report unusual activity, property damage, security breaches, etc. to our Operations Centre and emergency services

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Mature and positive attitude, and high level of professionalism
  • Passion for being active, since patrols may be indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and can include stairwells, uneven surfaces, and parkades
  • Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift (4-6-hours average)
  • Confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
  • Some experience in security would be an asset, but other experience in customer service or volunteering can still help you succeed
  • Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
  • Keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations
  • Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radio
