Job Title: Early Childhood Educator Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Best Friends Children's Centre Inc. As an Assistant to our Early Childhood Educators, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of our young children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention to detail.
  • Assist Early Childhood Educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Submit written observations on children to Early Childhood Educators or supervisors.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
Requirements:
  • Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Physical stamina to lift and move children and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
