Job Title: Early Childhood Educator Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Best Friends Children's Centre Inc.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Educator Assistant will work under the supervision of early childhood educators to support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in our care. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily routines, leading activities, and promoting a safe and nurturing environment for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Requirements:
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and move children as needed
