Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our corporate services team at Sodexo Canada Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of food for our cafeteria, coffee shop, and catering departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our clients and customers.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Ensure that all food products meet the highest standards of quality and safety, adhering to Sodexo's food safety policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and monitor kitchen leadership teams to ensure a high level of productivity and the best use of team member capabilities.
  • Financial Management: Manage financials for the food program, including labor costs, food costs, inventory, equipment, and materials.
  • Catering and Events: Oversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients and groups.
  • Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain business relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the highest quality products and services.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Promote and assist in the marketing of the food program to both internal and external audiences.
  • Analysis and Improvement: Constantly analyze the culinary program to identify efficiencies and areas of opportunity within our culinary operations.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Certification: Possess a Red Seal certification in culinary arts.
  • Bilingualism: Be fluent in both English and French, written and spoken.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a chef role.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Industry Knowledge: Have knowledge of industry standards and legislative policies and procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, clients, and staff at all levels.
