At Columbia Sportswear Company, we're seeking a talented and experienced Retail Store Director to join our team.

About the Position

We have over 430 retail stores worldwide, and our Store Leadership Teams are crucial to our success. As the Retail Store Director, you'll be responsible for leading a team of store leaders and associates to deliver an exceptional consumer experience that drives sales and executes marketing directives. You'll maintain a deep understanding of the store's consumer base and effectively communicate product needs to influence product assortment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the store team to develop, evaluate, and coach a diverse staff to meet customer experience expectations.
  • Inspire, educate, guide, and develop diverse associates and keyholders to meet short- and long-range growth plans/career paths within the store, field, and general office.
  • Deliver on operating budgets and manage expense control within division guidelines to achieve positive results and meet profitability expectations.
  • Ensure accuracy of all functions related to store operations, including Front and Back of House Operations.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels through effective replenishment, organization, shrink control, and communication.
  • Communicate regularly with Area/District Manager providing relevant market information and employee successes and challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years functional experience.
  • Experience managing individual contributors and a department, or acting as a lead.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems and drive decisions that impact finances, efficiency, and effectiveness of the store.
  • Ability to operate a Point of Sales (POS) system and various software packages.

  • Frequently in a more active environment, requiring constant movement and potential physical exertion.
  • Occasional requirement to work in place.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with others.
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Estimated Salary: $65,300 - $87,100
