Job Overview

A Fire Prevention Specialist is a critical member of the Fire Prevention Team responsible for all aspects of fire prevention and education. This role requires working a continental rotation shift of days and nights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lifelong Learning: Maintain operational knowledge of Client Fire Prevention Standard and relevant building and fire codes to enforce these codes and standards.
  • Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct inspections, maintenance, and use of personal protective equipment, including Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), identifying and reporting deficiencies.
  • Emergency Response: Participate in training and drills to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Communication: Deliver internal training to Securitas and Client personnel to raise awareness of fire prevention programs and activities.
Requirements:
  • Education: Grade 12
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License or willingness to obtain
  • NFPA Level I and II certificates, IMS100 certification, G Class Driver's License
  • Maintenance: Basic maintenance of security patrol vehicles and reporting of deficiencies
  • Educational Requirements: NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner Level I & II, NFPA 472 or 1072 Awareness Level
