Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Counselor for Children and Youth to join our team at Family Services of Greater Vancouver. The successful candidate will provide counseling services to children and youth, working with them to address various challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to children and youth, using evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Assess and address the mental health needs of clients, developing and implementing treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify areas of strength and need for clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and organizations to provide clients with access to additional support services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as counseling or psychology.
  • 3 years of experience working with children and youth, preferably in a counseling or therapeutic setting.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and techniques for working with children and youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
