Job Title: Director of Finance and Business Support

About the Role:

The Director of Finance and Business Support is a key member of the AccorHotel team, responsible for providing strategic leadership and financial guidance to ensure optimal business decisions. This role requires strong accounting and business acumen, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the Finance and Accounting Department, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Hotel Leaders to achieve optimal operating performance, managing key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, as well as strategic plans and financial reports.
  • Coordinate and prepare financial analysis, forecasts, and budgets, providing financial support and understanding to the Management Committee and senior managers.
  • Review financial performance, analyzing variances, forecasts, and budgets to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development of business acumen among hotel Leadership team members, identifying and developing profit improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement methods and procedures to improve the accuracy of working schedules, labour standards, forecasts, and plans.
  • Provide accurate and complete financial and management reports to hotel management, corporate office, and owners.
  • Complete month-end duties, including P&L, forecast, commentary, and inventories.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable and Income Audit workflow, and balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
  • Recruit, train, and lead finance colleagues, fostering ongoing training and development.
  • Monitor employee performance, providing positive feedback, performance management, annual performance reviews, recognition practices, and consistent follow-up.
  • Host monthly departmental communication meetings, promoting a safe and well-work environment with emphasis on health, safety, and work-life balance.

Requirements:

  • Accounting designation, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Previous experience as a hotel Director of Finance or Controller preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership in managing teams and/or significant complex projects.
  • Superior skills in computer technology and applications, with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
  • Experience with accounting systems or similar financial software for financial reporting, analysis, and presentation.
