About the Company

Vaco is a leading provider of financial services to the food and pet food industries. We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team in Canada. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with experience in leading a team of financial professionals.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate with the President and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to drive the company's vision, mission, and values
* Oversee Treasury, Corporate taxation, reporting, audit, internal controls, Operational Accounting, and Regulatory reporting
* Ensure accurate and timely financial reports for the organization's monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
* Demonstrate ethical business practices and positive, professional relationships with board members, banks, auditors, lawyers, advisors, and consultants
* Contribute to negotiating, managing, and closing major financial agreements
* Lead the financial accounting functions, including accounting, payroll, reporting, borrowing, information technology, and systems
* Prepare the annual operational and capital budgets
* Evaluate the financial performance of the organization

Requirements

* CPA designation or MBA
* 7+ years of experience in financial reporting and FP&A
* 2-3+ years as a manager or equivalent with strong leadership skills
* Industry: Food/Manufacturing (Food Manufacturing strongly preferred)
