About the Role:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Site Manager to support the University of Alberta Hospital and the Mazankowski Heart Institute. As a key member of the Site Operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective oversight and leadership to ensure optimal utilization of resources and efficient patient flow.
  • Oversee the patient placement team to coordinate bed allocation and patient movement, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Act as the primary contact and proxy manager for on-site staff during non-regular business hours, responding to incidents and escalating concerns as needed.
  • Collaborate with Unit Managers and other leadership to facilitate problem-solving and provide support to frontline staff.
  • Escalate patient care concerns and coordinate the resolution of issues.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing – BN, BScN or equivalent, with active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in a complex, acute care hospital setting, with a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio).
  • Demonstrated organizational, judgment, and decision-making skills, with exceptional leadership abilities and conflict management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters prepared or in process in Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, Leadership, or Business.
  • Proficiency in Connect Care, e-People, and RMS.
