Job Title: Financial Secretary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Secretary to join our team at Peel Financial Inc.

Job Summary:

The Financial Secretary will be responsible for providing administrative support to our finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of daily financial activities. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the flow of information within the team to ensure seamless communication.
  • Open and distribute mail and other materials, maintaining a well-organized workspace.
  • Plan and organize daily operations, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Train other workers on financial procedures and protocols.
  • Determine and establish office procedures and routines to optimize efficiency.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring timely meetings and appointments.
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages, providing excellent customer service.
  • Answer electronic enquiries, responding promptly to emails and messages.
  • Compile data, statistics, and other information to support financial decision-making.
  • Type and proofread correspondence, forms, and other documents, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Submit credit and loan applications to management, ensuring timely processing.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Operate computerized inventory record-keeping and re-ordering systems, maintaining accurate records.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Support for newcomers and refugees, including foreign credential recognition.
  • Support for youths, providing awareness training to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous people, providing cultural competency training and awareness.
  • Permanent employment, working 34 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
