Job Title: Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Western Human Resource Corp. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to clients in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare reports and case histories to document client progress and needs
  • Assess clients' needs and eligibility for specific services
  • Implement life skills workshops to promote independence and self-sufficiency
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of services
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of specific services within the community
  • Perform housekeeping and food preparation tasks to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Resolve conflict situations and provide emotional support to clients
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
  • Implement behavior management programs to promote positive behavior
  • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support
  • Develop service intervention logic models and outcome measures to evaluate program effectiveness
  • Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs
  • Screen, recruit, and train volunteers and support staff
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Behaviour management Certification, Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, Intensive behavioural intervention Certification, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Medication Administration Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
  • Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
  • Physically demanding work environment
