We are seeking an exceptional Senior Transformation Program Leader to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada, based in Toronto. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned leader with a proven track record in delivering large-scale transformation programs.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end delivery of Finance IT's critical multi-year CFO Transformation Technology & Data workstream, comprising multiple large cross-platform programs. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, as well as experience in managing complex transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of large-scale transformation programs to ensure strategic objectives are achieved within approved timelines, scope, and budget.
  • Evaluate and provide guidance during the general and detailed planning stages of enterprise-wide initiatives, developing strategies to ensure all workstreams are cohesive and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Support the design and monitoring of initiative goals, translating the vision into high-level scope, design, and executables.
  • Develop the case for change, supporting the design of a holistic end-state transformation roadmap, and working closely with the CFO and IT delivery teams.
  • Create clarity out of ambiguity and quickly focus efforts on the most value-generating initiatives.
  • Provide superior client experiences and strengthen relationships within the team.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with RBC business, CFO, and T&O partners.
  • Seek input and prepare program roadmaps, project, and/or implementation plans aligned with stakeholders' direction.
  • Integrate plans at the program level, creating estimating models as required, refining the plan, and managing performance against it.
  • Anticipate and quantify tactical, operational, and strategic risks, applying a risk-based approach to forecasting.
  • Establish processes for identifying issues, resolving complex problems, and escalating to executive/steering committees as needed.
  • Responsible for developing program and project metrics, including status reporting of KPIs.
  • Manage scope using appropriate fact-based metrics and assumptions.
  • Manage program-level communications, including status reports to executive stakeholders.
  • Provide senior management with timely updates on operational program risks and issues.
  • Manage resource planning and project scheduling, establishing policies and procedures that produce high-quality and sustainable results.
  • Conduct delivery in accordance with RBC Financial Group's standard project management discipline, consistently following RBC's Program Management Framework.
  • Champion and operationalize strong program governance and execution assurance processes.
  • C coach delivery leads toward their development, including coaching project management best practices.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management capabilities
  • Expert knowledge of a broad spectrum of IT infrastructure, systems, and services, and a strong understanding of the financial services industry
  • Exceptional organizational change management skills and knowledge of best practices
  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with at least 10 years of experience managing large and complex transformation programs
  • Demonstrated strategic conceptualization, analytical, and planning skills
  • Expert knowledge of program and project plan development and management, scheduling methodology, waterfall and iterative methodologies, program and project metrics, analysis, and status reporting
  • Superior staff management and project management skills; demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and effective strategic problem-solving, technical lead, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated skill working effectively with a diverse group of key stakeholders and experience fostering an inclusive environment

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year

This salary range is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and other factors.
