The Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Support Specialist to join our Capital Markets team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our front office, middle office, and back office teams.

About the Role

">

As an Application Support Specialist, you will play a critical part in maintaining the stability and availability of our Sophis application, which is crucial for life cycle management of trades from trade feed to PnL and risk management and settlement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Maintaining the integrity of data quality derived from official EOD Market Data and positions priced by our Model Library">
  • Quickly addressing issues pertaining to front office, middle office, and back office that impact business functions">
  • Driving improved stability and higher-quality data delivery to front office, middle office, and back office teams">
  • Documenting new issues and enhancing existing documentation to ensure consistent steps are performed for known issues">
  • Coordinating with various groups to remediate issues (Support, Development, Analytics, Quants)">
  • Investigating pricing failures and resolving issues utilizing SQL, Unix, Windows skills">
  • Developing scripts to automate processes using Powershell and other scripting languages">
  • Engaging in platform-related projects, including vulnerability remediation, business continuity practice, and automation of day-to-day tasks">

Requirements and Qualifications

">

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

">
  • ">
  • 4+ years of experience working with LINUX and WINDOWS operating systems, with hands-on experience navigating, problem-solving, and scripting via these OS">
  • Strong SQL Administration skills, including writing complex queries and creating SQL reports">
  • Hands-on experience delivering monitoring solutions that create visibility into platform and application health using tools like ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, or Elastic Search">
  • Proven experience in a mid-senior production support role facilitating multiple requests and efforts around program management, daily requests, infrastructure, and application management">
  • Knowledge of front-to-back-office processes and systems used in trading environments, including job scheduling services, middleware, and infrastructure engineering and design">
  • Capital Markets experience in communicating and managing incidents impacting critical trading services around market data, order management, or risk">

Benefits and Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a dynamic work environment.
